Champagne Grand Cru Extra Brut Union
Grand Cru Champagne AOC
This Champagne is a testament to the exceptional terroir of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. The Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the renowned "Rose et Jutées" vineyard in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, benefit from the fine brown soils on chalky subsoil and the warm south and east exposure. Meanwhile, the Pinot Noir grapes come from the "Les Petites Vignes" vineyard in Puisieulx, where clay-limestone soils provide structure and minerality. Planted between 1969 and 1996, these vines are cultivated using organic and biodynamic principles, respecting the environment and the delicate balance of the ecosystem. Hand-harvested at peak ripeness, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged on the lees in barrels, without racking, to develop complexity and depth. A perpetual reserve of Pinot Noir from the Puisieulx vineyard is added to the blend, ensuring consistency and complexity. Bottled on August 3rd, 2022, without fining or filtration, this Extra Brut Champagne offers a pure and authentic expression of the terroir. The delicate dosage of Pinot Noir from the perpetual reserve adds a touch of finesse and complexity. Disgorged on April 2nd, 2024, this limited-edition cuvée is a true gem for Champagne connoisseurs.
